Vijaya Arunaimaran – Freediver, Instructor, and Adventurer
I grew up in Thiruvannamalai, India, surrounded by the beauty of nature. As a child, I spent a lot of time in the tropical forests, learning about the amazing life around me. This love for nature eventually led me to the ocean, where I discovered a new passion for freediving.
Freediving is not just a sport for me; it’s a way to connect with myself and the world. When I dive, I feel like I’m meditating. It helps me understand my body and mind on a deeper level. In those quiet moments underwater, I find peace and clarity, allowing me to see things in a new light.
I’ve always had an adventurous spirit, loving the excitement of trying new things. In 2023, I set a national record in freediving for India, which was a proud moment for me. Whether I’m climbing in the mountains or exploring the depths of the ocean, I embrace every challenge with an open heart.
As an athlete and instructor, I believe in pushing my limits and living a life filled with exploration and growth. I want to protect our planet and inspire others to appreciate the beauty of nature. My journey is about discovering the wonders of the world while also being aware of the challenges our environment faces. I hope to share this passion with others, encouraging them to connect with the world around them.
